Principal

The principal of DMA, Mark brings over 25 years of providing strategic solutions in the domain of graphic design that have paved the way for clear and effective communications for start up companies and Fortune 500 brands alike. Messages and ideas that are distinct from the competition and developed to take care of the concerns of each individual client, with a purpose to trigger the appropriate assessments and actions by their customers...to buy, participate, contribute or support.

Mark's hands-on approach has played a key role in developing creative strategies, identity programs, brand name development, packaging, promotion and advertising campaigns and all forms of collateral design for companies such as: Clorox, Carl’s Jr., MaxFactor, Meguiar's, R.J. Reynolds, Frito-Lay, Starkist Foods, Pandol Brothers, Arizona State Credit Union, L.A. Dodgers, City of Vernon, Castle & Cooke, Oxy, Rain for Rent, Rio Tinto, Colorado Olympic Training Center and many others.

Mark is a design graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. His work has been awarded time and again in the areas of packaging, print design and advertising from numerous organizations that include: International Newspaper Marketing Association, International Association of Fairs and Expositions, Graphic Design USA, Western Fairs Association, California Restaurant Association, Local and Regional Addy Awards among others.

Geoff Marko

Associate: Creative Strategies and Design

With over 20 years of experience, Geoff has a broad understanding of how overall brand relationships are built and maintained for products, services and organizations. In that time, he has worked with companies developing identities, packaging, integrated branding programs, campaigns, and more. The list of clients have included companies such as Boston Market, Alberto-Culver, Nestlé, Pabst Brewing Company, Wise Snacks, Coca-Cola, Little Caesar’s, Sanford, Motorola, Grainger and numerous others.

In addition, Geoff has been involved in naming, innovation and ideation for some of the nation’s leading companies. The results have led to the creation and launching of successful new products and opportunities for brands and companies such as The Cheesecake Factory, Gatorade, Quaker Oats, McDonald’s, Dreyers Ice Cream, Pfizer, Yoplait, Purina and SC Johnson.

Geoff’s work has received awards in several areas of print, packaging and advertising. These include recognition in International Brand Packaging Awards, Graphic Design USA, Print, Mobius Design and Advertising Awards, the Tower Awards (BMA) and the Addy Awards, among others.

On top of his experience, his education included The Colorado Institute of Art and Colorado State University.

John Mack

Associate: Creative Director and Senior Copywriter

John has over 25 years experience developing brand marketing strategies, content and executing national campaigns. As an award-winning advertising agency creative director, he has helped Fortune 200 companies build brands, launch new products and build market share.

Mack has worked with national clients in both the business to business and consumer markets using all media including broadcast and online campaign tactics. John has helped create national strategy and the creative campaigns for such clients as General Mills, General Electric, Starbucks, Hazelden Foundation, Meredith Publishing, Procter & Gamble and Target. Mack has also been an entrepreneur having launched 2 successful companies.

He says his best is yet to come.

Greg Marko

Associate: Creative Strategies and Design

Greg Marko is a rare combination of strategy and creative. With the customer at the center of his universe, he seeks to understand the true value of messaging and aesthetic triggers, and has spent over 20 years connecting products with people. Brands under Greg’s watch have successfully navigated our segmented marketplace, finding relevant and memorable ways to communicate, resonate and thrive.

Greg is informed by a vast multi-disciplined branding competency, having led creative development on both agency and client sides of business. This background provides an invaluable perspective in identifying both the barriers and opportunities existing within organizations to create purposeful and useful brand touch-points. He has been instrumental in the development of strategy, identity, naming, packaging, new product development, promotion and advertising, for companies such as; Frito-Lay, Coors Brewing Company, RJ Reynolds, Boston Market, Little Caesar’s, Meguiar’s, Taco Bell, Mattel Toys, Crocs Footwear, Nestles, Wyndham Hotel Group, Quiznos and many others.

Greg’s education comes from The Colorado Institute of Art and Northern Illinois University. His work has received numerous awards in several areas of packaging, advertising and promotions, receiving honors from the; International Brand Packaging Awards, Global Association for Marketing at Retail, Promotional Marketing Association and American Advertising Federation.

Steve Gabbitas

Associate: Copywriter, Director, Producer

After graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in Business Administration, the 1990’s equivalent of a Liberal Studies degree, Steve found employment in the advertising industry managing production at a medium size agency. Flash forward 20+ years and you will see that has also managed major accounts, produced commercials, formed his own agency, produced several short films and a feature length film that made the festival circuit and received critical acclaim. He has since returned to advertising assisting DMA as a copy writer, director, producer and PR specialist.

Brian Collins

Senior Designer

Gifted designer Brian Collins studied applied art and design at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California, and advertising design at Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York for undergraduate and postgraduate work respectively.

After graduation, Collins spent 7 years with The Bakersfield Californian as Creative Manager leaving to form his own studio in 1999.

In addition to his duties as studio principal, Collins taught applied art and design at both Bakersfield College and Cal State University Bakersfield.

Collins has been recognized many times by Editor and Publisher Magazine, the Kern County Ad Club, the Benny Awards and has received numerous other local, regional and national awards and accolades.

Collins' work has been published in the popular LogoLounge series as well as Communication Arts magazine.
